Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons light brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 to 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (diced into 1-inch pieces)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil for coating air fryer basket
  • Green onions (thinly sliced, optional)
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix teriyaki sauce, olive oil, optional brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add diced chicken, stir to coat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 6-8 hours.
  3. Before air frying, drizzle 1 teaspoon olive oil over the air fryer basket or spray with cooking spray.
  4. If your air fryer requires preheating, set it to 385F. Cooking closer to 400F may char the chicken exterior.
  5. Using tongs, add the chicken to the air fryer in a flat layer, discarding excess marinade.
  6. Air fry for 10 to 15 minutes until chicken reaches 165F, flipping once midway.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately, preferably with rice.
