Description
This Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken recipe is quick, high in protein, and packed with sweet-and-savory flavor. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2/3 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 to 3 teaspoons light brown sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 to 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (diced into 1-inch pieces)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil for coating air fryer basket
- Green onions (thinly sliced, optional)
- Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix teriyaki sauce, olive oil, optional brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Add diced chicken, stir to coat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 6-8 hours.
- Before air frying, drizzle 1 teaspoon olive oil over the air fryer basket or spray with cooking spray.
- If your air fryer requires preheating, set it to 385F. Cooking closer to 400F may char the chicken exterior.
- Using tongs, add the chicken to the air fryer in a flat layer, discarding excess marinade.
- Air fry for 10 to 15 minutes until chicken reaches 165F, flipping once midway.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately, preferably with rice.
Notes
- You can make your own teriyaki sauce for a fresher taste.
- Adjust the cooking time based on the size of chicken pieces and the air fryer model.
