- 2 cups shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese (about 8 oz)

- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple cider and bring just to a light simmer.
- Whisk in cream cheese cubes until melted and smooth, stirring frequently to prevent clumps.
- Gradually add Swiss or Gruyère, one handful at a time, whisking constantly until smooth.
- Stir in Dijon mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix until creamy and fully combined.
- Pour into a fondue pot or heat-safe bowl and keep warm. Stir occasionally while serving.
