Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for coating)
  • Festive sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and pre-portion them for a smooth workflow.
  2. Cream together the cream cheese and butter until fluffy, then add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the whole egg and egg yolk along with vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the cream cheese mixture, mixing just until combined.
  5. Gently stir in sprinkles.
  6. Chill dough in the refrigerator for 60 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough, roll in powdered sugar, and place on the baking sheet with spacing in between.
  9. Bake for 14 minutes; they should be puffed and slightly wet on top.
