- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, chopped
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the orzo in salted boiling water for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté minced garlic and chopped shallots until fragrant (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add shrimp and Cajun seasoning; cook until shrimp are pink and opaque (3-5 minutes).
- Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Simmer for another 3-4 minutes.
- Add the cooked orzo and Parmesan cheese to the skillet; gently toss to coat.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
