Description
Enjoy these 5-Ingredient Carrot Fritters, a quick and flavorful dish perfect for snacks or side dishes.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ lb carrots (grated)
- 1 small egg (acts as a binder)
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour (adjust as needed for texture)
- 1 clove garlic (grated)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin (adds flavor)
- 2 tablespoons coriander leaves (optional, for freshness)
- ½ teaspoon fine salt (enhances flavors)
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper (optional, adds spice)
- ½ cup hummus (creamy complement)
- ½ cup plain yogurt (adds tanginess)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for freshness)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400℉/200℃ and prepare your baking sheet by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.
- Grate the carrots using a food processor or a box grater. Squeeze out excess moisture with a paper towel and place in a mixing bowl.
- Combine the remaining ingredients—egg, flour, garlic, cumin, and optional coriander leaves—with the grated carrots and mix until well incorporated.
- Scoop a heaping tablespoon of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and flatten to form fritters.
- Bake for about 12 minutes, flip, and bake for another 12 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
- Mix the dip by combining yogurt, hummus, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Serve the hot fritters alongside the yogurt-hummus dip.
