Delicious Italian Turkey Meatballs Recipe


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs using your hands or an ice cream scoop.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs in batches and brown on all sides for about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Pour marinara sauce over the browned meatballs in the skillet. Cover and let simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Serve hot with extra sauce and garnish with fresh basil or more parmesan.
