Description

A moist and delicious apple pie cake topped with a rich caramel sauce, inspired by Jamie Oliver. This recipe combines the comforting flavors of apple pie with the ease of a cake, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup caramel sauce, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the sliced apples.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
