Description

Delicious baked donuts infused with tangy lemon and coated in sweet sugar.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix egg, buttermilk, melted butter, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan and smooth the tops.
  6. Bake for 12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool slightly, then dip in powdered sugar.

Notes

For extra lemon flavor, you can add lemon extract to the batter.
