Description
Mouthwatering Cowboy Butter Chicken is a delicious dish featuring tender chicken breasts coated in a rich, buttery sauce infused with garlic and spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Begin by patting the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub this seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
- In a large skillet, melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium-high heat.
- Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer the chicken to a plate and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
- In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining 1/4 cup of butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
- Stir in the dried thyme and adjust seasoning if needed. Allow the sauce to simmer for a minute.
- Place the chicken back into the skillet, spooning the buttery sauce over the top.
- Sprinkle fresh parsley on top and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Adjust cayenne pepper for desired spice level.
- Use a meat thermometer for precise cooking.
