Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C), or 160°C if using a fan oven. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking. Set them aside for later use.
- In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to cream the softened butter with the granulated sugar and salt. Beat them together for about 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and pale in color.
- Add the large egg and pure vanilla extract to the creamed butter mixture. Beat on medium speed until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fit a piping bag with an open star tip or a round tip and fill it with the cookie dough. Pipe your desired shapes onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cookies have puffed up and the surface is no longer wet-looking.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
