Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C), or 160°C if using a fan oven. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking. Set them aside for later use.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to cream the softened butter with the granulated sugar and salt. Beat them together for about 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and pale in color.
  3. Add the large egg and pure vanilla extract to the creamed butter mixture. Beat on medium speed until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fit a piping bag with an open star tip or a round tip and fill it with the cookie dough. Pipe your desired shapes onto the prepared baking sheets.
  6. Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cookies have puffed up and the surface is no longer wet-looking.
