- 1 ½ cups barbecue sauce
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- Green onions (optional for garnishing)
- Sesame seeds (optional for garnishing)
Instructions
- Spray the insert of your slow cooker with cooking spray.
- Add the barbecue sauce, honey, and garlic, and stir to combine.
- Remove 1/2 cup of the sauce and place it in the refrigerator for later use.
- Add the chicken and coat it evenly with the sauce, arranging it in a flat layer.
- Cover and slow cook on HIGH for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or on LOW for 5 to 6 hours until the chicken reaches 165F.
- If desired, shred the cooked chicken with two forks and return it to the slow cooker.
- Add the reserved sauce and toss the chicken to coat.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or in tortillas.
