Description

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken is a simple yet flavorful dish. The chicken is tender and has a perfect balance of smoky, savory, and sweet flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups barbecue sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • Green onions (optional for garnishing)
  • Sesame seeds (optional for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Spray the insert of your slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. Add the barbecue sauce, honey, and garlic, and stir to combine.
  3. Remove 1/2 cup of the sauce and place it in the refrigerator for later use.
  4. Add the chicken and coat it evenly with the sauce, arranging it in a flat layer.
  5. Cover and slow cook on HIGH for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or on LOW for 5 to 6 hours until the chicken reaches 165F.
  6. If desired, shred the cooked chicken with two forks and return it to the slow cooker.
  7. Add the reserved sauce and toss the chicken to coat.
  8. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  9. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or in tortillas.
