Description

Stir-Fried Chinese Garlic Chicken is an incredible dish featuring tender chicken and fresh vegetables, all infused with garlic and ginger.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced thinly
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced chicken, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let marinate for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. While the chicken is marinating, chop the bell pepper, broccoli, snap peas, and green onions. Set aside.
  3. In a large pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Add the marinated chicken to the pan in a single layer. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  5. In the same pan, add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn them.
  6. Toss in the bell pepper, broccoli, and snap peas. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Stir everything together, allowing the flavors to meld for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.
  9. Sprinkle sliced green onions on top for a fresh touch.
  10. Remove from heat and serve immediately over cooked rice or noodles.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken with tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • Feel free to add more vegetables based on your preference.
