Description

Texas Roadhouse Smothered Chicken is a comforting dish featuring juicy chicken breasts topped with creamy cheese and crispy bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, lower the heat and add the heavy cream. Stir frequently until it begins to simmer.
  5. Incorporate half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese into the cream, stirring until melted and smooth.
  6. Place the chicken breasts back into the skillet, spooning the creamy cheese sauce over them.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top, along with the crumbled bacon.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
