- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1¼ cups whole milk (or half-and-half for extra creaminess)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Warm butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat until lightly bubbling.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, without browning.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a smooth paste.
- Pour in milk gradually while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and whisk in Parmesan until smooth and creamy.
- Let cool before spreading on pizza crust. Sauce thickens as it cools.
