Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups whole milk (or half-and-half for extra creaminess)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Warm butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat until lightly bubbling.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, without browning.
  3. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a smooth paste.
  4. Pour in milk gradually while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
  5. Add salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and whisk in Parmesan until smooth and creamy.
  7. Let cool before spreading on pizza crust. Sauce thickens as it cools.
