Description

A warm, buttery cobbler with sweet, juicy peaches, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Peaches: 1 kg (about 6 medium peaches)
  • Sugar: 150 g (3/4 cup)
  • Lemon Juice: 15 ml (1 tablespoon)
  • All-Purpose Flour: 250 g (2 cups)
  • Baking Powder: 10 g (2 teaspoons)
  • Butter: 115 g (1/2 cup), unsalted
  • Milk: 240 ml (1 cup)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a large bowl, slice the peaches into wedges and mix them with sugar and lemon juice. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to macerate.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, and remaining sugar in another bowl. Add the cold, diced butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs. Slowly stir in milk just until combined.
  3. Pour the peach filling into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the top.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
  5. Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Avoid soggy bottoms by ensuring peaches are not too watery. You can prepare the filling a day in advance.
